Jessica grew up on the beaches of Long Island and earned a Bachelor of Science, Cum Laude, from Hofstra University in May of 1996. Thereafter, Jessica went on to attend Pace University School of Law in White Plains, New York, where she did an internship for Appellate Division Judge, Hon. Leo F. McGinity, before graduating in 1999. While in Law School, Jessica was a member of the Environmental Law Review and the International Criminal Moot Court.
Jessica spent the first 17 years after law school in Dutchess County as an Assistant District Attorney, quickly rising to Senior Assistant District Attorney. During her time as a lead prosecutor, Jessica successfully obtained verdicts in over one hundred criminal trials in the areas of Vehicular Assault/Homicide, Driving While Impaired (DWI) by Alcohol and/or Drugs, cases involving serious physical injury or death, and animal cruelty cases. She also developed invaluable experience inspecting crime scenes, evaluating expert crash reconstruction, and analyzing forensic toxicology results.
In 2017, Jessica took her injury and crash experience to the law firm of Stenger, Roberts, Davis & Diamond in Wappingers Falls, New York, where she litigated a variety of negligence claims. Most notably, Jessica secured a $1.1 million-dollar jury verdict in Sullivan County, New York for Personal injuries sustained against a negligent landlord and a $55,000 property damage jury verdict as a result of negligent driving in Dutchess County, New York.
During her career, Jessica has served as a member of the New York State DWI Advisory Council, a select invitation-only committee, tasked with developing standardized statewide law enforcement supporting deposition and field note forms. She also assisted in the development of a forensic evidence team involving the county medical examiner and Dutchess County SPCA Humane Law Enforcement Office to create a model to address the complexities of investigating allegations of animal abuse.
Jessica is currently a board member of the Council on Addiction Prevention & Education (CAPE) of Dutchess County and a regular speaker/presenter of the annual Teen Driving Program where she informs high school students and their parents about the legal consequences of DWI and underage drinking.
In 2018, Jessica joined Carpenter Law PLLC as Of Counsel, where she continues to provide exceptional legal services to the Hudson Valley and New York State in the areas of civil litigation, criminal defense, and pistol permit representation (suspension, revocation, transfer and sale), among others.
